The Democratic Strategist will be seeking articles in a variety of categories - both pieces written specifically for the publication and previously published material deserving a larger audience. The following categories of material will particularly be sought:

  • New opinion polls and analyses
  • Strategy papers based on opinion surveys or other empirical social scientific data including statistical or demographic data, sociological or anthropological field research, historical data, unique first-person experience in a political campaign or grass-roots organizing project and other organized factual information.
  • Surveys and reviews of the available data and current strategic debates in specific topic areas
  • Reports of experiences using particular strategies in specific political campaigns
  • Interviews with specialists in a variety of fields related to political strategy.

One specific approach The Democratic Strategist will particularly encourage is the development of "end-to-end" strategy proposals that combine conclusions drawn from the broad analysis of public opinion data with the design of specific media and communications strategies. We hope The Democratic Strategist's encouragement of this kind of analysis will stimulate new and closer collaborations between public opinion pollsters and political strategists, on the one hand, and advertising and communications specialists on the other.
